2017

STAUTS MARCH 2017:
Springfield Public Schools has contracted with Community Partnership of the Ozarks (CPO) to continue Farm to School activities. Work continues with local growers to expand the number of farmers to increase produce and variety, while procurement methods and delivery systems are being explored. Work also continues to develop a regional food hub to support the large amount of meals being served.

STATUS JUNE 2017:
The Farm to School Leadership Team continues to meet bi-monthly. Two part-time staff and one contracted, very limited, position remains to implement the program. July will be a pivotal month for the continuation of the program. Funding for the District’s fiscal year will become available and will determine internal funding source for Health Services. Health Services will know early June how much funding will be available for a full-time coordinator position. Strategic planning session is scheduled for mid-June to work through details.
