A funding opportunity and partner has been identified. The program also has support from community partners. The next step is to pass an ordinance to allow implementation of the program.

STATUS JUNE 2017:
The Community Involvement Committee of the City of Springfield has reviewed the proposed ordinance to adopt PDMP legislation. The first reading will go before Council on July 10. Conversations with Greene County and the City of Republic have been favorable to this point. Both have mentioned they are interested in following the lead of the City of Springfield.

STATUS SEPTEMBER 2017:
The City of Springfield adopted legislation approving the implementation of a Prescription Drug Monitoring Program on July 24, 2017. Green County adopted legislation that mirrored the City’s on July 25, 2017. The City signed a User Agreement to enter into a contract with St. Louis County for the implementation and management of the PDMP. Greene County approved an MOU with the City authoring the contract to be executed in the county. Pharmacies began submitting data on September 1, 2017. The PDMP went live for prescribers to access on October 1, 2017.

STATUS DECEMBER 2017:
There has been a strong local push; the national average is 25% in use, in Missouri we are at 30%. There will be a mass registration for the program in early 2018.
